A trip to the north - Perlis

Hiya! it has been nearly a year since I last update my entry. So many things had happened but let us not talk about that. Today, I'm going to talk about a trip I took about ten months ago. My first trip to Perlis, the most northern state of Peninsular Malaysia. Actually, I went there to attend a friend's wedding but then, we took the opportunity to wander around. It was a long journey and a tiring one. The vast landscape of paddy fields dotted the highway that we took. Perlis is such a small state that I can see some of its landmark from a far. We went to the famous Padang Besar and saw the huge immigration office. It was busy with cars and lorries. We didn't stop at the famous bazaar because everybody was tired. On our way back to Kangar, we saw an ostrich farm. The ostriches were relaxing under the shade. When we arrived at Kangar, we tried to find a room for the night. Every hotel was fully booked but........luck was on our side. We managed to secured a big comfortable room. The weather was undeniably hot and at 7 p.m., the sun was still shining brightly. As the air got colder, we went to Kuala Perlis. A seafood haven for those who like to eat seafood. The food was fresh and the smell of the food cooking was intoxicating. The fresh salty air from the sea was also making us hungry by the minutes. Then, the next day we went to Wang Kelian. A small village near the Thai's border. We were lucky because it was Sunday. They were having a Sunday market where citizens from both country can freely enter the other side. The process was quite simple. If you are a Malaysian, just leave your identity card at the immigration office and you can enter the other side. We also went to Gua Kelam, one of the largest mining cave in Malaysia. The sight was breathtaking and we couldn't help but marvelled at the greatness of Allah. Well......that's all for today. I'll upload the pictures for you after this.

Cameron Highlands

This highland is in the state of Pahang but throughout the years, it is easily accessible from Tapah, a small town in Perak. A few years back, a new road was built but this time it is from Simpang Pulai, another upcoming small town. The road are wider and not so winding unlike the route from Tapah. One day, my family and I decided to go up to Cameron Highland in our brand new Perodua Kancil. There were five of us but the journey was so worth it. Here are some of the pictures taken during our journey to the top and back down. (Mind you.) We took the old route to go down from Cameron Highlands.

2 in 1 holiday retreat -

Assalamualaikum.. Hi! How's your weekend? Hectic? Tiring? Why don't you take a short break and enjoy yourself this weekend. Take your family to this place. Sg Klah Hot Spring Recreational Park. It is a great place. Ideal for both adults and kids. It offers a nature element that we all love, WATER. The best part is we can get the best of this element at one place - side by side. The cooling and soothing effect of a cold mountain water and a refreshing and calming effect of hot / warm water. It is open from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily (which I don't really remember) but the entrance fee is quite reasonable [ RM6 - RM8 for kids and RM8 - RM10 for adults). It is a bit remote but you'll welcome the peaceful feeling throughout the journey. Take the North - South Highway and get out at Sungkai. If you are a first-timer to this place, you'll find the journey is a bit far but as you get use to it, it'll be find. You can bring your own food if you want to but they're also selling some food inside. So, don't worry of the hungry you're going to feel after soaking yourself in the water.
So, hope to see you there.
